TJAPUKAI
Welcome to the award winning Tjapukai Gallery where you will find authentic aboriginal boomerangs, paintings, didgeridoos and artifacts, as well as jewellery, clothing, souvenirs and more. Learn from the wide range of books, CD’s and DVD’s - how to play a didgeridoo, what a bullroarer is used for, and the meanings of symbols used in Aboriginal art.
There are many items made by local Aboriginal people and other exclusive products that are not found anywhere else. Profits from the Tjapukai Gallery benefit the local Aboriginal community and the artists themselves. The Gallery also provides training and employment opportunities for Aboriginal people.
Tjapukai now has two main experiences on offer, Tjapukai by Day and Tjapukai by Night. Tjapukai by Day is an interactive, fun and educational insight into the rainforest culture of the Tjapukai people of Tropical North Queensland. Tjapukai by Night is a theatrical dinner and show depicting dreamtime stories, fire making and dance.
