UMOONA OPAL MINE AND MUSEUM

This Underground Complex was formally an original opal mine that was first worked in the 1920's. Today it is Coober Pedy's largest and only multi-award winning tourism attraction.

Join their guided tours through the aboriginal interpretive centre, underground home and our real opal mine. Watch the multi-award winning documentary, "The Story of Opal", in the panoramic theatrette.

View fossils from the SA Museum; see the largest range of exclusive opal jewellery and rough cut opal (crystal, black & boulder) in Australia's largest underground retail showroom. Open daily. Guided tours 10am, 2pm, 4pm.
