LIQUOR LICENSING TENNANT CREEK

Northern Territory Government welcomes you to Tennant Creek. They would like your stay to be as enjoyable as possible. There are certain measures to help reduce alcohol-related harm in Tennant Creek. These rules apply to everyone in Tennant Creek.

Public Restricted Areas

Drinking alcohol in any public place within the Tennant Creek town area is banned and attracts penalties. This means you cannot drink alcohol in parks, reserves, carparks, ovals or streets.

You can still drink in pubs, clubs and restaurants. Some special community events also may be licensed to allow drinking.

Liquor Supply Plan

This plan works hand-in-hand with other supply restriction measures. The main elements of this plan include among other things:

Takeaway sales only allowed - Weekdays 2:00pm - 8:00pm. Saturday and Public Holidays (no trading on Christmas or Good Friday) 12:00pm - 8:00pm. Sundays (Hotels and Clubs only) 12:00pm - 8:00pm.

Sale of cask and fortified wine limited to one 2 litre cask or one bottle of fortified wine per person per day, between the hours of 4pm and 6pm. Takeaway port in any container is prohibited. No takeaway sale of beer in 750ml and 800ml bottles.
