HOGLUND GLASSBLOWING STUDIO

The glassblowing studio was established in 2002 and is situated in the tropical rainforest of Australia’s Far North Queensland.

This ‘jungle glass studio’ is nestled in the beautiful Whyanbeel Valley, approx. 40 minutes drive north of Port Douglas, bordering on the Daintree World Heritage National Park.

In the lush and tranquil location of the ‘forest of rain’, Ola and Marie are able to recharge their creativity and spend time on their design work.

A kilnforming studio and GLASS GALLERY was added in 2006 where Ola and Marie work on their glass art in a variety of glass making techniques, including blowing, fusing, slumping and painting.

A stunning collection of handmade art glass, such as vases, bowls, platters, goblets, candlestick holders and glass jewellery is on display in the gallery.

Visitors are invited to enjoy a unique experience watching hot molten glass being blown, where light and glass play a mesmerising game with each other in the creation of exquisite art glass.

Ola also offer members of the public the opportunity to try their hand at glassblowing and make their very own glass paperweight. These classes are the perfect introduction to hot glass with lots of fun! No previous experience is necessary. It is an excellent opportunity for both individuals and ‘team building’ groups to try this creative process.
