AUSTRALIAN BUTTERFLY SANCTUARY

The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, situated in the heart of Kuranda is the largest butterfly flight aviary in Australia.

All the butterflies are local species and all are hand reared on the premises. The undisputed “stars” are the electric blue Ulysses butterflies and the fluoro green Cairns Birdwings.

A guided tour is included in the admission price and a new laboratory tour provides an opportunity to view first hand the breeding laboratory.
